The Haakaa Oral Syringe is the perfect way to administer medicine, milk and liquid diets to premature or just plain fussy babies in a mess and waste-free way. Our dual-angled ports on either side of the nipple shoot liquid into the sides of your little one’s mouth instead of the back of their throat to greatly reduce the risk of choking!
When feeding a baby using a traditional syringe, you have to use a combination of the hard nib (which could damage your baby’s delicate mouth) and your finger to make it work. The Haakaa Oral Syringe makes things easier by providing a soft silicone nipple for babies to suck on when they feed!
Instructions:
- Measure the proper dose of medicine into the syringe, then double check the amount.
- Position your child in your lap facing away from you.
- Introduce syringe into his/her mouth and after your baby starts to suck.
- Slowly push the syringe plunger in.

Have a newborn that needs his iron supplement, the holes in the side instead of the bottom make it perfect for avoiding a sudden or accidental discharge making baby choke. This has made things soooo much easier. Great product.
The filling is pretty awkward and the width of the plunger means little movement on dispenses a lot of fluid which can make for mess if your child isn't in the mood for taking medicine, as most sick babies rarely are. Great product in design but falls a little short in practice
I bought this to give my baby Losec. However, turns out that the smallest quantity mark is 5ml, so it was not accurate enough for the doses I needed. Also, my baby didn't care for the mouth piece, so it was no better than a standard pharmacy syringe. Maybe it will be good for other medicines some time down the track, but for now, we are not using it.
It comes with a measuring cup but wish it had measurements on the syringe itself, would make things much easier
The syringe barrel needs to be a bit longer. Because there's a slight gap between the syringe seal and medicine, when you bring the medicine up to the 10ml line the plunger comes out so you never truly get 10mls.
